Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Dyslexic Learners

The aim of this six-week course is to improve understanding, awareness and perception of dyslexia - and, most importantly, how to support dyslexic individuals. The small group size means you will get plenty of individual attention, guidance and discussion.


Target Group

Anyone who may benefit from learning more about how to support learners with dyslexia. You may be:

  • Dealing with dyslexic individuals on an everyday basis, either personally or professionally
  • A human resources manager or trainer within a company
  • A teacher, SENCo, learning support assistant or childcare worker


    Learning Outcomes

  • A greater understanding of what dyslexia means
  • Identifying key characteristics of dyslexia
  • Understanding the problems individuals with dyslexia face
  • How IT and other resources can assist people with dyslexia
  • How to conduct a case-study with a dyslexic learner


    Location

    This course is run on a regular basis at Indigo Dyslexia Centre Norfolk and Indigo Dyslexia Centre Suffolk. If an organisation is able to put together a suitable number of learners, this course can be run at your location at a time to suit you.


    Course Length

    The course runs on one afternoon a week for six weeks, with students able to use the facilities and resources provided at the Indigo Dyslexia Centre.


    Teaching

    All our courses are run by certified dyslexia specialists. The teaching and support you will receive is of the best quality.


    Assessment

    The course is 100% coursework based, so skills learned through the duration of the course can be put into practice. There are three pieces of assessed work:
  • A numeracy game targeted to dyslexic learners
  • A case study on a dyslexic individual
  • A presentation discussing the case study


    Cost

    The course cost is £462 (inc. VAT).
